NeuroGenesis

Page history last edited by James Dalton 3 yrs ago

The growth (read: birth) of new neurons.

It (neurogenesis) happens all the time inside our brains, especially in the part of our brain (hippocampus) putatively responsible for logging short-term memories into long-term storage, and perhaps also for retrieving those memories.

Incidentally, neuronal apoptosis (programmed cell death) inevitably accompanies neurogenesis. - UrthBound
